Jorge Mendes, operator to Cristiano Ronaldo, has lashed out at UEFA, after Luka Modric was named UEFA Player of the Year on Thursday.
Modric won the honor in front of his previous Real Madrid colleague, Ronaldo, who has since moved to Juventus and Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah.
Mendes called the choice “an embarrassment” and demands that his customer ought to have won the prize.
“It’s an embarrassment; Cristiano ought to have won that.
“Football is played inside the four lines and Cristiano won there. He scored 15 objectives and conveyed Real Madrid on his back to win the Champions League.
“It’s silly he hasn’t won UEFA Player of the Year. He’s most loved for it and it’s simply faulty,” Mendes told Record.
